On the road again
Written by Louise Ellekilde Fogstrup
Whilst the lockdowns have enhanced virtual working and made balancing all activities easier, I am also really enjoying being back on the road again and working with leadership teams in person.
In the middle of the two lockdowns, I was asked if I believed we would go back to meeting in person like before, and like many others, I expected a change.
Meetings have moved into the virtual space
The change that I am seeing is that many of the 1-1 interactions and meetings have moved into the virtual space, and it is no longer required to be in the same location to have a good dialogue and add value. This is a bigger change, which I have seen both for consultants and investors meetings, as well as internally in global organisations.
So when do we choose to meet in person?
When we set direction
When we address the desired development of our people and organisation
When we address key changes
When we need to form a team
When we need the team – even when working across time zones, we do need to come together both the ensure we do the best we can do for the purpose, and also to enjoy being a team.
Finally, when we do choose to meet in person, we are focusing more on making in count and to ensure it adds the required value. This means an enhanced focus on both the strategic business side as well as the social side.
